The Greens don’t fit in with Bavaria, Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) has been saying for months because they ban everything that defines the Bavarian way of life. The CSU, on the other hand, sees itself as the guardian of freedom in the Free State and supports this liberalitas bavariae in front of him like a monstrance. In everyday life, however, the following applies: please, under the conditions of the state government. The most recent example is the gender debate. In his government statement, Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) said that the state government was against ban policy. But gendering in schools and state institutions should be banned in Bavaria. Culture Minister Anna Stolz (FW) had recently explained that there was no need for a ban because there was no gender requirement in schools, but rather the valid spelling rules.
Science Minister Markus Blume (CSU) also advocates a ban on gender at Bavaria’s universities. Recently he told the Augsburg General of complaints that students were given lower grades because they did not gender. When asked at universities, these cases practically do not exist. The student representatives – mostly with verve for disadvantaged colleagues and, when in doubt, advocating politically correct behavior – also know nothing. They are now publicly wondering whether Blume has nothing more important to do than engage in “populist claims.”
As an employer, Blume can order universities not to use gender asterisks or the internal I. But it has no influence on how students write or speak.
The fact that there are many who are annoyed by gender-changing moral guardians is a given. The fact that the CSU wants to pick up these people and not leave them to the AfD is fine. But repeatedly complaining about a problem when there apparently isn’t one makes you unbelievable.
