In pajamas and without shoes, an eight-year-old walked behind the crash barriers of Autobahn 3 near Regensburg. The boy wanted to go to his mother and had therefore previously run away from a children’s home, the police said on Tuesday. Officials returned the boy unharmed to the children’s home on Monday evening.
According to a police spokesman, no omissions on the part of the facility could be found. Several drivers called the police after seeing the boy in the construction area of the highway. As the spokesman went on to say, the boy would probably not have come to his mother either. She lives in another county.
