Bavaria: CSU parliamentary group for Olympic application – Bavaria

After the successful European Championships in Munich, the CSU parliamentary group in the Bavarian state parliament spoke out in favor of trying to hold the Olympic Games in Bavaria. The championships have proven that Bavaria is able to host major sporting events and that they are accepted by the people, said parliamentary group leader Thomas Kreuzer on Tuesday in Munich.

“Sustainable, resource-saving and in the real Olympic spirit – the European Championships inspired people. That is exactly the concept that must be used as a basis for such major events in the future,” said Kreuzer, adding: “Bavaria is ready for another Olympic bid.”

The Olympic Games have already been held twice on Bavarian soil – in 1936 the Winter Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and in 1972 the Summer Games in Munich.
