Bavaria: CSU General Secretary announces tablets for all students by 2028 – Bavaria

According to CSU General Secretary Martin Huber, by 2028 all schoolchildren in Bavaria should be provided with a tablet for their lessons. “That too is something that for us is part of the reality of life and, above all, of satisfaction in Bavaria,” Huber told journalists in Munich on Tuesday. The state government had repeatedly announced that all schoolchildren should be given a tablet, but no date was given for the final implementation.

In March, the Ministry of Education announced that around 560,000 laptops and tablets were already available to schools in the state and that since the school year has now ended, all trainee teachers and their seminar teachers have had a tablet available. However, it remains unclear how many students have already benefited from it. “Every student will also have their own device available in the near future,” it said.

In a pilot project “Digital School of the Future”, the use of tablets is already being tested at around 250 schools in selected grades in Bavaria.
