Bavaria: cat shot, dead dogs disposed of – Bavaria

An unknown person allegedly shot an arrow at a cat with a crossbow in Wiesentheid, Lower Franconia. When exactly the animal was injured in the night from Thursday to Friday is still unclear, as the police announced on Saturday. The owner took the cat to the vet on Friday. The arrow that was still stuck in the animal’s back could be removed. When asked how badly the cat was injured, the police could not say, but she survived.

In the Swabian town of Buchloe, a walker discovered the bodies of two young dogs on a company site. Apparently, strangers had thrown them over the fence from the path, the police said on Saturday. A possible violation of the Animal Welfare Act is now under investigation.

The young dogs had no externally visible injuries, said a police spokesman. In view of the degree of decomposition, they would have been in place for a few days before the passer-by discovered them on Friday. The dogs were not chipped, and the company’s camera surveillance did not show the spot. Now one hopes for witness references.
