Bavaria: Another major police operation in Langweid am Lech – Bavaria

Almost two weeks after the violent death of three people, another major police operation in the small Swabian community of Langweid am Lech caused a stir. After an alleged threat to a 38-year-old with a firearm, a suspect was arrested by a special task force on Thursday evening.

However, the firearm that was being sought was not found in the 47-year-old, a police spokesman reported on Friday. There is said to have been a dispute between the two men over a claim for money. In this context, the 47-year-old is said to have threatened the younger man and shown a weapon or similar object.

For security reasons, the police called for special forces who arrested the 47-year-old in an apartment. The man offered no resistance. According to the police, no sharp weapon was found during a search. Only one airgun was secured. There is no evidence of a gun crime. The 47-year-old was released again. He is being investigated for threats.

Langweid, a place with fewer than 9,000 inhabitants, made headlines nationwide at the end of July with a bloody crime. A man is said to have shot his three neighbors in a dispute in the town in the Augsburg district and injured two other people. The 64-year-old suspect, who legally owned several firearms as a marksman, is in custody. He is being investigated for murder.
