The prices for diesel, mineral fertilizers and pesticides are currently shooting through the roof because of the Ukraine war. This can be life-threatening for farmers. Because the costs are rising exorbitantly, while the returns are increasing at best in the long term – if at all. How it will look after the next harvest cannot be estimated. Wilhelm Müller, 65, helps run a farm in Obermalching, a district of Maisach, which he passed on to his son Johannes eight years ago.
