Bavaria: After a robbery on a money transporter: police arrest the driver – Bavaria

A good month after the robbery of a cash-in-transit van in Großkarolinenfeld in the Rosenheim district, the police arrested the driver of the van on suspicion of a crime on Friday. The 28-year-old is in custody, the Upper Bavaria South police headquarters said. A police spokesman said he had not yet commented on the allegations. We are looking for other accomplices.

On January 5th, two masked men attacked the crew of the money transporter in front of a bank branch in Großkarolinenfeld and stole cash. A sum was never mentioned. A person in the van was hit on the head with an object by the robbers and was slightly injured. After the attack, the perpetrators fled in a white van.

A few days ago, investigators seized the getaway vehicle. The traces were examined, but the results were not yet fully available. An investigative group of up to 25 colleagues worked hard on the case. Officials said they had received dozens of tips from the public so far.

The 28-year-old driver of the cash-in-transit truck was arrested early in the morning at his home address in the Rosenheim district; he offered no resistance. The man’s living quarters and his business were then searched. Evidence was secured and the evaluation is still ongoing.
