Shortly before the end of the summer holidays, a young person dies on a school campus in Franconia. The suspected murderer, a 15-year-old, is now speaking out about the crime for the first time.

For the first time since his arrest, a teenager accused of murder in Würzburg has confessed to killing a 14-year-old classmate Killed by a shot in the head. The 15-year-old had a corresponding statement read out by his defense attorneys at the Würzburg regional court, as court spokeswoman Martina Pfister-Luz reported from the closed hearing. However, the shot was not planned, but arose from the situation. There was initially no information about the motive.

The 15-year-old German has been standing in front of the Great Youth Chamber since May 3rd. According to the prosecution, he killed the 14-year-old Italian with a single shot from a pistol on the grounds of a school in Lohr am Main, Franconia, last September. The two boys went to the same middle school in the small town in the Spessart.

According to the spokeswoman, the defendant further explained through his defense lawyers that he was very sorry for everything and that he wished he could undo everything. The teenager did not answer questions about the matter.

According to the information, the father and girlfriend of the man who was killed at the time testified as witnesses, saying that they particularly commented on his personality and the consequences of the crime for witnesses and relatives. In addition, five police officers provided information about the situation in which the victim was found, the initial measures taken and their personal impressions of the defendant after his preliminary arrest.

The defendant is said to have acted out of murderous desire

Since his arrest on the day of the crime, the defendant had remained silent about the investigators’ allegations. The public prosecutor’s office assumes that he worships the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer – he committed one of the most gruesome series of murders in the USA and there is a Netflix series about him. The defendant is said to have committed the crime only to kill someone – i.e. out of a desire to murder.

Because the defendant is a juvenile, the law requires a closed-door trial. In juvenile proceedings, the focus is on the idea of education. In the case of murder, the maximum youth sentence is ten years. Preventive detention is possible under strict conditions.

The murder weapon, a nine-millimeter Ceska CZ 75 pistol, belonged to a 66-year-old who lived in the same house as the defendant. It is not yet publicly known how the teenager got his hands on the weapon.

According to a court spokeswoman, the proceedings will continue on May 17th. The witness statement from a police officer is therefore planned.
