Relatives of victims often hope that proceedings will not only provide information and justice, but also alleviation of their pain – mostly in vain. A lot has to come together for a process to be good.

The Yozgat family wanted nothing less than the truth in the NSU trial, nothing less than justice. And then she finds out about the cell phone. A tiny detail that goes down in a series of murders like that of the NSU: Halit Yozgat, who was already dead, was shot in the head by the NSU murderers and the cell phone was stolen during the autopsy in forensic medicine. One final act of disregard. Is this detail important? Or does it disturb the family even more? Is a process even there to heal wounds? And doesn’t the truth hurt even more?
