Led by the outstanding captain Dennis Schröder, the German team won in Okinawa against co-favorite Australia by a narrow margin of 85:82 (49:44), even without the injured Franz Wagner.

In front of 6205 spectators – including basketball legend Dirk Nowitzki – Schröder shone with 30 points, Patty Mills convinced with 21 points among the strong Australians. In the last group game, Germany will meet Finland on Tuesday (9.30 a.m. / Magentasport) and with their third win they can not only make the group victory perfect, but also take a huge step towards the finals in Manila.
