NBA: Wagner brothers win with Orlando against Schröder’s Nets

Two world champions on one side, the captain on the other: in the end it’s a clear matter. The evening was unsatisfactory for two other German NBA professionals.
Thanks to a total of 37 points from the world champion brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner Orlando Magic clearly won against the Brooklyn Nets around national team captain Dennis Schröder.
With 21 points, Franz Wagner was the most successful thrower of the game in the 108:81 win in Orlando. In his third start since moving to Brooklyn, Schröder recorded 15 points for the Nets, who have now lost five of the last six games.
“Communication, commitment, how we implemented the game plan – we saw things differently this year, it was good that everyone was ready,” Franz Wagner praised his team’s performance. “We’ve had a few games where we let it slip away in the third quarter. So the way we came out of halftime was very good.” After the break, the hosts steadily increased their lead.
Setbacks for two other German NBA professionals
Isaiah Hartenstein lost with the New York Knicks to the New Orleans Pelicans 92:115 and was not used at all.
Maxi Kleber, on the other hand, was on the pitch when Max Strus scored with a throw from his own half for the Cleveland Cavaliers and perfected the Mavs’ 119:121 defeat with the clock running out. The Mavs had previously taken the lead with just 2.9 seconds left on the clock. Luka Doncic’s 45 points in a Dallas jersey one day before his 25th birthday were ultimately not enough.
