NBA: Schröder impresses in Nets win against former club

There is reason to celebrate for three German world champions in the NBA. One person leaves the floor as a loser.
In the North American professional basketball league The Brooklyn Nets are back on the winning track in the NBA. Dennis Schröder’s team beat his former club Atlanta Hawks 124:97.
In the fight for the last place for the play-in tournament, the German world champion impressed as a starter with 23 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. “We knew before the game that we needed a hit-first mentality and we implemented that well,” said Schröder. The Nets and Hawks will meet again on Saturday evening at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Victory for the Wagner brothers
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic have underlined their playoff ambitions. The team led by world champions Franz and Moritz Wagner won against the Utah Jazz with 115:107. The Magic’s match winner was Jalen Suggs, who hit three three-pointers in the last three minutes. After a two-game break due to injury, Paolo Banchero also returned – and put up 29 points. Playing in the starting lineup, Franz Wagner scored a solid 14 points, and Moritz Wagner also impressed with 14 points and ten assists off the bench.
After the tenth win in the last 13 games, Orlando remains in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
The New York Knicks around Isaiah Hartenstein ended February – after a strong January – with just four wins from twelve games. At the end of the month there was a 110:99 defeat against the Golden State Warriors.
The outstanding man on the floor with 31 points and eleven rebounds was superstar Stephen Curry, whose team started the game with a 14-0 run. As a starter for the Knicks, Hartenstein had six points, six rebounds and two assists in just under 20 minutes of playing time. Despite the weak February, New York remains in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
