Basketball – Munich defeats Valencia – Sport

The FC Bayern basketball team celebrated their fifth win in the Euroleague on Thursday evening, beating Valencia 97-92. The Munich team had recovered well from the narrow defeat against Real Madrid two days earlier. On Tuesday evening, despite a strong performance, Bayern were just under 64:68 points against the royal team. Center Othello Hunter was the man of the evening against the Spanish team, scored 14 points as top scorer and revealed a high level of accuracy from the three-point line. As against Madrid, coach Andrea Trinchieri was missing two key players in captain Vladimir Lucic and Augustine Rubit against Valencia on Thursday – and Hunter was there again. The American seems to ignore all biological laws and has been performing at a consistently high level for weeks despite his ripe old age of 36. Even the great exertion doesn’t seem to be able to harm him, after all, Bayern have been playing every two days since the beginning of the month. Hunter collected 13 points and five rebounds against Valencia – but the man of the evening was top scorer Corey Walden with 18 points.
