The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich have to wait for their first win of the season in the Euroleague.

Coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team lost their home game against title contenders Armani Milan with 81:83 (37:43). The Munich team is still in the table cellar. In the past Euroleague season, Munich started with four defeats.

Bayern got into the game well and scored well both on and off the field. Defensively, the hosts forced some ball losses so that after 15 minutes they had broken away to 40:26. Then the Munich lost their rhythm, their lead melted to six points difference at the break.

The Bundesliga basketball team went into the game without Augustine Rubit and had to do without Othello Hunter from the middle of the second quarter. The Milanese took advantage of these economies of scale after the break.

In the final section, Munich struggled against the visitors’ defense, but were able to count on Cassius Winston’s individual actions (20 points). When there were still 21 seconds to play, Milan’s Billy Baron hit a three-pointer to make it 82:81 – ultimately the throw that decided the game, as Nick Weiler-Babb missed his two free throws and Paul Zipser’s throw with the final siren from his own half just missed his target.
