“Darling, do we need a basement?” At some point this question arises when you are in the process of planning a new home. Hobby room, sauna, building services, workshop, storage areas for food or sports equipment – and the basement area is already planned. Therefore, the first consideration is: How much space outside of the living area must be taken into account? Anyone who has already used a basement room will have an idea of whether there is enough space. An additional room within the apartment is always more expensive than a basement room. But if there are enough niches, you can often do without a basement.
