Base will officially launch the Mainnet Bridge UI for general users on August 9th.

Coinbase’s Base network announced on Aug. 3 that it had set Aug. 9 as the launch date. The “official” version of the interface (UI) for Base’s official mainnet bridge.

Additionally, the team will award more than 100 Ether worth approximately $184,000 to developers and content creators. This is part of a month-long launch event called “Onchain Summer.”

The Base mainnet was released for developers on July 13th, but there was no working UI for bridged from Ethereum at that time. The only way to use the network was to use developer tools to bridge ETH from layer 1 of Ethereum Goes to the Base Network

In an announcement on August 3, the team said that the bridge UI has been released. This allows users to start using the network immediately without having to wait for the official launch. However, some of Base’s default Web3 apps may not be available until the official launch on August 9th.

On August 9th to September 13th, the team will provide Base-related NFT and ETH tokens to users who bridge the network or complete educational “quests”.
