On June 29, the teamsaid Optimism-powered Ethereum-secured network undergoes rigorous security audits for six months. inside and outside which is the last criterion required for launch.

“On completion of these checks We have met our ⅘ criteria for mainnet releases,” Base said, adding that they felt confident after finding a significant code bug:

“We did not find any serious errors. This gives the Base team the confidence to continue with the mainnet launch.”

Coinbase officially launched Base on February 23, aiming to be a low-cost, secure, and developer-friendly network for building decentralized applications.

In addition to Coinbase’s internal review, Base invited the wider community to participate in a public smart contract audit through Code4rena to report found bugs

“We joined over 100 security researchers and are pleased that no significant vulnerabilities have been discovered.”

The community review runs from May 27th to June 10th, with a top prize of $100,000 awarded to successful bounty hunters.
