According to Laporta, FC Barcelona are in agreement with two other free transfer players – and it should be clear who they are.

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed that the Catalans are close to signing two players on free transfers.

The radio station RAC1 he said in an interview: “We have two players in the bag whose contracts are expiring, players who can be negotiated with.”

Although the 59-year-old did not give any specific names, these are probably AC Milan’s Franck Kessie and Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen. With both professionals, whose contracts expire in the summer, FC Barcelona was last mentioned in several media as a favorite for a commitment.

Barcelona: Kessie and Christensen approaching? With Joao Felix already flashed off in the summer

Atletico striker Joao Felix was flashed off last summer, as Laporta admitted: “I like Joao Felix very much, his agent has known it for a long time. He’s a great player, I told Atletico Madrid that too. In the summer we have try to get him.” Atletico clearly refused.

The heavily indebted FC Barcelona is currently in a state of upheaval and has accordingly focused primarily on free transfer or comparatively cheap players. Laporta has ruled out a return from club icon Lionel Messi, who moved to Paris in the summer.
