Barbra Streisand’s Autobiography “My Name is Barbra”: The First Loud Woman – Culture

Singer, actress, author, director – and then she also does politics. Barbra Streisand has written her autobiography.

“My Name is Barbra” is the standard work when it comes to Streisand: If it’s not in there, it probably didn’t happen at all. Barbra Streisand read the audio book version herself; it lasts over 48 hours – and she soon explains how annoyed she was by everything that was circulating about her that wasn’t true. However, the Streisand effect thing only comes towards the end; considering a career that has lasted over sixty years, it wasn’t that long ago. She corrects that she didn’t sue in 2003 because a photo on an environmental website showed her house – but because her house, unlike all the others, said who lived in it. Take that, Wikipedia!
