This is information first given this Friday by the website LesViolets.comspecializing in TFC news, then confirmed by The Team. The Champions Trophy will most likely not take place on August 5 in Bangkok, Thailand, as originally planned.
This match between the winner of the championship (PSG, 99%) and that of the Coupe de France (Toulouse) could be postponed until next winter, in another foreign country, after being hosted by Tel Aviv in Israel in 2021 and 2022.
4 million euros at stake
The organizer would no longer wish to organize the meeting, for reasons yet to be determined, which would deprive the LFP of a nice sum of 4 million euros. This announcement should be made official in the coming days.
The TFC will therefore not be able to hope to win a second trophy in three months. But Toulouse supporters have learned to be patient, since 66 years separated the conquest of the club’s two French Cups, in 1957 and 2023.
