Kai and Thorsten Wingenfelder are singers and guitarists in the band Fury in the Slaughterhouse – and now also fashion icons.

Kai and Thorsten Wingenfelder from the band Fury in the Slaughterhouse were named “Hat Wearers of the Year”. The Association of German Hat Shops has awarded a duo the “Gold Hat” in Hamburg, as stated in a statement. The award has been presented since 2013.

The brothers like to wear headgear both in their performances and in private: pork pie and caps are their trademarks, fedoras, narrow men’s hats, knitted and newsboy caps are also there. “This is a nice and original prize,” said Kai Wingenfelder, who celebrates his 64th birthday on November 26th.

Previous “Hat Wearers of the Year” were the singer Max Mutzke, the actor Jan Josef Liefers and the former national goalkeeper Nadine Angerer.

Fury in the Slaughterhouse (“Won’t Forget These Days”) was one of the most successful German bands in the 1990s. The musicians from Hanover broke up in 2008 and got back together in 2017. Her new album “Hope” was released in July. Kai Wingenfelder is the band’s singer, Thorsten plays guitar.
