At the kick-off of the opening game of the new indoor football league “Baller League” there are eager comments in the Twitch chat: “Offside? Why offside?”, “Red card!”, “Oh, it’s boring without the boards”. The new format, which was founded by soccer world champions Lukas Podolski and Mats Hummels, among others, has been running since January. They are “Presidents” of the Baller League. And they have a clear goal: with a fast football show and broadcast on channels such as Twitch, Tiktok or YouTube, they want to appeal to a young target group – also for the private broadcaster ProSieben, which shows the games on Joyn and ProSieben Maxx.
