Bali is relaxing: Vaccinated people can now go on vacation without quarantine. This is what the Indonesian paradise has to offer.

The corona pandemic has made traveling to distant countries more difficult in recent years. But now many tourist hotspots are relaxing their entry requirements – including Bali. From now on, fully vaccinated people can go on vacation on the island again without quarantine. A booster vaccination is not necessary. However, you must be able to show a negative PCR test that was carried out no earlier than 48 hours before the start of the trip.

In addition, at least a four-day hotel reservation on the island and a new PCR test on arrival are mandatory. Until the result is there, guests have to stay in their hotel room. If the test is negative, tourists can move freely on the Indonesian island. After three days, another PCR test is required.

Bali: Pleasant 30 degrees all year round

Ever since the film “Eat Pray Love”, in which Julia Roberts (54) found her great love in paradise in 2010, Bali has been on many people’s to-do lists. No wonder, because holidaymakers will find both adventure and relaxation on the approximately 5,500 square kilometer island.

A detour to the tropical region is particularly worthwhile in spring. When the temperatures in Germany are still in the basement, Bali has a pleasant 30 degrees all year round. Due to the end of the monsoon season, there were also significantly fewer tourists in spring, even before the corona pandemic.

Beaches, jungle and relaxation

While the south is more touristy, there are quieter bays to explore in the north of the Indonesian island. In the rain forest one comes across the terraced rice fields again and again. If you want to immerse yourself in the unique nature, you should go on a jungle tour. It is best to book a guide who can bring you closer to the flora and fauna. Surrounded by dense rainforest, Lake Tamblingan is a popular destination for highland hikes. Also to be found in the north: the hot springs of Banjar. In the middle of the jungle are several pools filled with hot, sulphurous water. This is said to work wonders, especially with tension and rheumatic complaints.

Those looking for even more relaxation are in good hands at Nyang Nyang Beach in the south of the island. Lying in the sun under palm trees or swimming in the turquoise water – everyday worries are quickly a thing of the past here. The beaches of Canggu are a bit sportier. Many surfers can be found here. Even beginners can rent a board and try to stay in the waves. In general, the place on the coast is very lively – numerous beach bars lure with refreshing cocktails. The Uluwatu cliffs on the southern tip of the island provide a spectacular view. The turquoise water, the rough rocks and the white sandy beach create a unique sight.

Yoga friends and foodies will be happy in Bali

Yogis and friends of the spiritual life should definitely go to Ubud. Here one yoga retreat follows the next and the density of vegan restaurants is above average. Between rice terraces and green vegetation you can search for your inner center – and at the same time enjoy a great view.

In the jungle of Ubud there is another special attraction, the Monkey Forest. The overgrown temple complexes are located just south of the city center. The three holy temples Pura Dalem Agung, Pura Beij and Pura Prajapati are dedicated to the deities Shiva, Brahma and Gangga. The nature park is open every day from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission for adults costs around five euros. The monkeys are used to visitors, but can become rude when looking for food. Just keep calm and avoid hectic movements.

Foodies don’t miss out on the Indonesian island either. On every street corner there are numerous beaches and restaurants that offer colorful dishes. Whether nasi goreng, nasi campur or nasi ayam – rice is very popular with the locals and is prepared in different ways. Saté skewers are also popular snacks and are offered in numerous variations. If you want to immerse yourself even more in the traditional regional cuisine, you should book a cooking class.
