There is no quarantine for vaccinated tourists traveling to Bali. According to Tourism Minister Sandiaga Uno, the island has even achieved herd immunity.

According to the authorities there, the popular holiday island of Bali has entered the endemic phase of Covid-19. “If I look at the curve patterns of 2020 and 2021 and now 2022, I believe that we (…) have indeed reached the endemic phase,” media quoted the island’s governor, I Wayan Koster.

95 percent of the population have already been vaccinated twice, 50 percent have already received a booster vaccination. “The decline in the daily number of cases has been constant, from the highest value of 2,556 new infections on February 9 to currently only two-digit numbers,” said Koster, according to CNN Indonesia.

Ultimately, however, the World Health Organization (WHO) must decide whether the endemic phase can be initiated. The Indonesian Minister of Tourism Sandiaga Uno had recently declared herd immunity for Bali: tests had shown that 90 percent of the population had developed antibodies against the corona virus.

Since March 7th, visitors who have been vaccinated twice have been able to holiday in Bali without quarantine again. The island relies on the tourism industry, which has been almost completely down since April 2020. In 2019, more than six million holidaymakers traveled to the island, which is known for its temples, rice fields and beaches.
