Less than three months after the death of a camerawoman while shooting a film with Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin, an employee sued a prop master. The civil law suit of the gun master was received on Wednesday, announced the competent court in the US state of New Mexico. The application is the German press agency before.
The gun master’s lawsuit is directed against a man who supplied props, including ammunition, for the filming of the western “Rust”. In addition to harmless dummy cartridges, live ammunition was found in a box that was identified as a container for harmless “dummies”, is the allegation. The prop company had in November Los Angeles Times disputed the delivery of live ammunition.
Head cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, was fatally injured and director Joel Souza was hit in the shoulder while filming the low-budget western “Rust” at a film ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The lawyers of the gun master in focus had brought “sabotage” into play in November. Someone could have put a live ammunition bullet in a box of harmless dummy cartridges to sabotage the shoot, lawyer Jason Bowles said in a TV interview at the time. The gun master had denied allegations of negligence on the set.
