Baierbrunn: Explosive special session – Munich district

Usually the time between the years, unlike the stressful weeks leading up to Christmas, is a stale time indeed. In the Baierbrunn town hall this Thursday, December 29th, this is not the case in two senses: On the one hand, a special meeting of the municipal council is scheduled there on an unusual date, on the other hand, the topic is explosive, presumably not only quiet tones will be heard in the debate to be heard. It is about the preparation of a development plan for the school meadow on Hermann-Roth-Straße, which the municipality under Mayor Patrik Ott (ÜWG) is striving for. The area is designated as a landscape conservation area. Among other things, however, a municipal area is required there for the conversion and expansion of the primary school.

The item was already on the agenda a good two weeks ago, but the administration’s proposal for a resolution was narrowly rejected at the time – a number of municipal councilors were unpleasantly surprised by the city hall’s snappy action. This speed is also due to a change in the legal situation that came into force on January 1, 2023, which includes new guidelines for landscape protection – a rezoning of the eastern area along Herman-Roth-Straße would therefore be more difficult and result in stricter environmental impact assessments. This Thursday, Ott is trying again to enforce the development plan. The public portion of the special session begins at 9 p.m.
