Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is on her first business trip in the new year to the USA. The Greens actually wanted to visit the United Nations, but the detour to New York falls victim to the rapidly growing number of new corona infections with the Omicron variant; the UN canceled the participation of delegations in the review conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which had already been postponed several times.
