BAE Systems receives $190 million to upgrade M2 ​​Bradley armored personnel carriers to M2A4 level

The US Army has placed a new order with BAE Systems to modernize the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle. The order volume amounts to 190 million dollars.

The order covers the modernization of a total of more than 70 M2 Bradley armored personnel carriers and M7 fire support vehicles. Work will be performed at BAE Systems facilities in Texas, Alabama, South Carolina, Minnesota, California, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

The agreement provides for the M2A2 Bradey to be converted to the M2A4 as part of Operation Desert Storm – Situational Awareness (ODS-SA). The fire support vehicles will be upgraded to the level of the M7A4.

The M2A4 version features increased mobility and a larger engine capacity. Thanks to the upgrade, the infantry fighting vehicle can move faster in battle conditions. The upgrade will improve the computer system and increase crews’ situational awareness.
