At the end of October, a murderer escaped on a prison trip – even though two companions were there. He is still fugitive. Now it is known: The man had probably told a fellow prisoner about the plans.

In the case of the murderer who escaped on a guarded excursion at the end of October, there are already indications of possible murder in 2021 Escape plans given.

As Baden-Württemberg’s Justice Minister Marion Gentges (CDU) said in the state parliament in Stuttgart, a fellow prisoner in the correctional facility in Bruchsal said in October 2021 that the murderer, who had now fled, had told him that it was probably easiest to escape during an execution . “It would be best if there was a female staff member as an escort because she could be easily overwhelmed if necessary,” said Gentges. The Bruchsal JVA informed her of this today.

“The prison did not consider this information from the other prisoner to be credible,” said Gentges. Nevertheless, according to the fellow inmate’s report, security precautions were increased on further excursions. That’s why four executions were carried out with three companions instead of the usual two.

But there were only two companions on the trip at the end of October. From Gentges’ point of view, they were not close enough to the man. The companions are obliged to monitor him constantly and immediately, said Gentges. Nevertheless, the officers were no longer able to catch him when he ran away. “For me personally, the conclusion is that the two staff members were not close enough to the prisoner to be able to reach him.” This is currently the subject of disciplinary investigations, which have not yet been completed.

The German-Kazakh escaped as a prisoner from the Bruchsal prison on October 30th during a guarded trip to a quarry lake in Germersheim, Rhineland-Palatinate. It was his eighth performance accompanied by his wife and children. In 2012, he was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Karlsruhe regional court for strangling a 44-year-old. He is still wanted across Europe. According to Gentges, the State Criminal Police Office is currently following up around 80 tips.
