Baden-Württemberg: Corona rules are relaxed despite an incidence of 1000 – domestic politics

the 7-day incidence also passed the 1000 mark in Baden-Württemberg on Thursday. Nevertheless, the state is loosening up!

As of today, the NEW Corona Ordinance applies in the Ländle – with relaxation for restaurants, museums and for sports in halls.

▶︎ More visitors are also allowed at major sporting and cultural events.

︎ Even for those who have not been vaccinated, there are some reliefs – because only alert level I applies.

Reason for the easing despite the increasing number of people infected with Corona: Experts and the green-black state government led by Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (73, Greens) assume that the infections with the new Omicron variant will be significantly milder.

Evidence of this: The number of people infected with corona in hospitals is stagnating. The limit values for alert level II are currently still relatively clearly undershot.

The loosening at a glance

▶︎ gastronomy: In the future, vaccinated and recovered people will no longer have to bring current tests to the restaurant. The curfew is also gone.

▶︎ professional sports: Up to 6,000 spectators are again allowed in the stadium – under 2G-plus rules. If the organizers want to stick to the 2G rule, there is a cap of 3000 viewers. Ten percent may be standing room.

▶︎ Culture: At concerts, 3000 visitors are allowed in closed rooms – on condition that 2G-plus is used at the entrance. With 2G, the upper limit is 1500. For all events, a maximum of half the capacity may be used. In museums and libraries, only 2G applies instead of 2G-plus.

▶︎ Leisure: Even with tourist offers such as ski lifts, cable cars and bus trips, vaccinated and recovered people will no longer have to show a test in the future. In leisure and club sports, 2G-plus also no longer applies in halls.

▶︎ retail trade: 3G is coming back. Even unvaccinated people can go shopping again with a current test.

▶︎ curfew: Unvaccinated people are now allowed to leave the house between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. In the future, the exit restrictions will only take effect if the incidence of 1500 is exceeded in a district.

▶︎ Universities: Since Monday, unvaccinated students with negative corona tests have been able to take part in lectures and exercises again.

▶︎ tightening: Clubs, discos and exhibition halls must remain closed due to the increased risk of infection. Carnival parades are prohibited. In the future, an FFP2 mask must be worn on buses and trains.
