An inmate at the Bad Reichenhall JVA managed to escape in mid-December. The enormous effort was hardly worth it.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the briefly escaped person has been in custody since February 2023: first in the Traunstein JVA, then in April 2023 in the Bad Reichenhall JVA and since his capture in the Munich JVA.

“The prisoner is particularly accused of stealing sacred objects (including grave crosses, grave lanterns) from cemeteries, churches and shops in the Traunstein area in 35 cases between December 2022 and January 2023,” according to the Ministry of Justice. “In addition, when the prisoner was arrested, files containing child pornographic content were found on his cell phone.”
