Bad Kreuznach gas station murder trial: pleadings planned – SWR Aktuell

Public prosecutors and co-plaintiffs pleaded on Monday in the trial of a fatal shot at a gas station in Idar-Oberstein. Both call for the maximum penalty for the accused.

Prosecutors asked for a murder conviction. In addition, the particular severity of the guilt must be determined. a possible release from detention would therefore not be possible. Unlike other cases, the question never arose as to who the perpetrator was. Surveillance cameras recorded everything that the accused confessed to the crime, according to prosecutor Nicole Frohn.

In her two-hour plea, Frohn spoke of an insidious murder with base motives that had rarely been so clear. The victim, the 20-year-old cashier, was defenseless and had no chance to respond to the attack.

“Defendant fully culpable”

The accused is also fully culpable. It also didn’t matter that he probably had around two per thousand alcohol in his blood. It was much more his arrogance that made him shoot the young man. This was a replaceable victim. Only because the accused wanted to send a signal against what he saw as pointless corona measures.

The accused killed the young cashier on behalf of everyone responsible for the measures. The employee as a person played no role. It could have been anyone else.

Complaints join

The co-plaintiffs joined the public prosecutor’s office in their plea. The prosecutor’s application is fully supported and with full conviction, it said.

The defense is on Friday with their plea. When everyone involved has determined their demands for a sentence, the verdict comes. It is expected in the coming week.
