Is Bad Boys 4 Coming? The film is rumored to be on hold after Will Smith’s Oscar scandal. Now Martin Lawrence speaks out.

Will Smith (53) continues to be criticized. After he slapped Chris Rock (57) at the Oscars on the open stage, the actor became quiet. Some of his projects – such as the planned Netflix strip “Fast and Loose” – are said to have been put on hold completely, others have been postponed. There is also speculation about a fourth “Bad Boys” film. Will the cult cinema series possibly not be continued at all?

Now “Bad Boys” co-star Martin Lawrence (57) speaks up. The actor told the US magazine “Ebony”, that the film is still in the works: “We have at least one more.” He did not reveal any more details. US media previously reported that the pause button had also been pressed during the preparations for “Bad Boys”. They wanted to wait and see what happened around Smith first, it said.

Will Smith caused a scandal at the Oscars

Will Smith slapped US comedian Rock during the 2022 Oscars after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s (50) bald head. The actress suffers from alopecia, a disease-related hair loss. A day later, Smith apologized via social media. Among other things, he called his own behavior “shocking”. As a consequence, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science banned Smith from all events for ten years.

The first part of “Bad Boys” was Will Smith’s first huge cinema success before “Independence Day”. This was followed in 2003 with “Bad Boys II” and in 2020 “Bad Boys for Life”, two equally successful successors. Smith and Lawrence play two narcotics officers with the Miami Police Department in the action comedy.
