“Babylon Berlin”: Start of the 4th season of the series on Sky

“Babylon Berlin” fans had to wait around two years, now there are new episodes of the popular series. The third season ended with the stock market crash of 1929. The fourth season begins on New Year’s Eve in 1930/31. As a result of the global economic crisis, poverty, hunger and unemployment prevail in the Weimar Republic. The National Socialists are gaining more and more influence. In the Reichstag elections in September 1930, the NSDAP won over 18 percent of the votes.

Inspector Gereon Rath (Volker Bruch) seems to sympathize with the SA and takes part in the destruction of Jewish businesses on New Year’s Eve at the behest of SA leader Walther Stennes (Hanno Koffler). For Rath’s colleague Charlotte Ritter (Liv Lisa Fries) a serious abuse of trust. She also has to investigate a murder and help her sister Toni, who is in trouble.

The fourth season of “Babylon Berlin” is based on Volker Kutscher’s novel “Goldstein” and has twelve episodes. From October 8th, they can be seen every Saturday in double episodes from 8:15 p.m. on Sky One as well as on Sky Q and the Wow streaming service on demand. In the coming year, all parts are also to be broadcast on ARD.
