Aying: State road 2078 open again – district of Munich

State road 2078 between Großhelfendorf and Feldkirchen-Westerham is open to traffic again three weeks earlier than planned. The 1.1-kilometer section between Rauchenberg and the district border in Aschbach had been renovated for around 2.6 million euros, with the funds coming from the Free State’s Corona investment program. In order to make the road safer for traffic, sections of the roadway were now uniformly widened to seven meters. In addition, two crests were flattened, crash barriers were installed on both sides of the roadway and a left-hand turning lane was created at the level of the Blindham mountain animal park. The reason for the faster completion: The substructure of the roadway proved to be more stable than expected and did not have to be replaced or reinforced over a large area.
