Netflix has landed Aya Nakamura in its new cast. The jury for season 3 of the show “New School”, which seeks to unearth the new nugget of rap, will be made up of the rapper SCH and, now, the French star Aya Nakamura and the rapper SDM. So far, SCH, Niska and Shay judged the candidates but the last two decided not to continue the adventure.
Aya Nakamura is a big catch for the Netflix show, thought of as a “The Voice” of rap. The 28-year-old artist is the most listened to French-speaking singer in the world and won the Flame for female artist of the year. For its part, SDM, whose real name is Léonard Manzmabi, is one of the biggest sellers of albums in France, according to The Parisian.
Adapted from the American show “Rhythm + Flow”, “New School” pits participants against each other in different events in order to show the extent of their talents. The musical show in search of new rap nuggets is back for a third season which looks promising.
