Axie Infinity is a popular NFT game. It faced another attack on Discord servers earlier Wednesday. leading to the attack of the MEE6 bot.
MEE6 is a popular bot mainly used for automating roles and messages. and is used by many crypto projects. In which attackers use compromised bots to gain privileges on fake Jiho accounts and subsequently issue fake announcements about Minting.
Developers were able to remove the compromised MEE6 bot from the main server and remove the fake messages. However, the project’s official Twitter account has warned that many users may still see the fake messages until Discord is restarted.

MEE6 bots are not a new phenomenon and many projects have experienced similar issues. However, the official MEE6 Discord support channel has denied allegations of hacking. and claiming to have checked with the engineer and did not find any unusual activity
Many people believe that hackers first invaded the admin account. They then access the secondary admin account using MEE6, which allows them to send webbook messages while hiding the compromised admin account.
