Numerous TV productions are also honored at the Golden Globes. There are already clear favorites.

The opulent family drama “Succession” is the big favorite for the TV and streaming categories at the Golden Globes. The final season of the HBO hit series collected nine nominations on Monday in Los Angeles, including for the main prize for best drama series as well as for several actors and actresses. Also at The series “1923”, “The Crown”, “The Diplomat”, “The Last of Us” and “The Morning Show” compete for the main prize in the drama category.

In the nominations, “Succession” is followed by the restaurant series “The Bear” and the comedy-mystery series “Only Murders in the Building,” each with five chances to win. “Abbott Elementary”, “Barry”, “Jury Duty” and “Ted Lasso” are also competing for the main prize in the comedy category.

The actors and actresses nominated include Kieran Culkin (“Succession”), Jeremy Strong (“Succession”), Gary Oldman (“Slow Horses”), Helen Mirren (“1923”), Emma Stone (“The Curse”), Selena Gomez (“Only Murders in the Building”), Elle Fanning (“The Great”), Steve Martin (“Only Murders in the Building”), Martin Short (“Only Murders in the Building”), Jason Sudeikis (“Ted Lasso “), Christina Ricci (“Yellowjackets”) and Meryl Streep (“Only Murders in the Building”).

Around 300 journalists from all over the world vote on the winners. The trophies, in the shape of a gold-colored globe, are scheduled to be awarded on January 7, 2024 in Beverly Hills. The broadcaster CBS wants to broadcast the 81st trophy awards live.
