The Country Music Association has awarded prizes in Nashville. Luke Combs was named “Entertainer of the Year”. Most of the trophies went to another musician.

Country musician Luke Combs (31, “Forever After All”) was named “Entertainer of the Year” at the CMA Country Awards.

At the gala of the Country Music Association on Wednesday evening (local time) in Nashville, he prevailed against his colleagues Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton and Carrie Underwood.

Most of the Country Night trophies went to Stapleton. The 43-year-old won in four categories, as best singer, for the album (“Starting Over”), the single and the song of the year. Carly Pearce (“29: Written in Stone”) was named best singer.

Stars like Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Eric Church and Jennifer Hudson were on stage at the show in the country stronghold of Nashville. The prizes were awarded for the 55th time. More than 7,000 CMA members select the winners.
