Aviation History: Here An All-Electric Plane Takes Off (Video)

See the video: Electric aircraft “Alice” completes a test flight.

“Alice” blows up. The plane, operated by the US aviation company Eviation Aircraft, took off from Grant County International Airport in Washington State on Tuesday. No ordinary start, because Alice is a pure electric machine. During its eight-minute test flight on Tuesday, it reached a height of a good 1,000 meters and a speed of 275 kilometers per hour. Company boss Gregory Davis was enthusiastic: “It was a wonderful experience for everyone who was there. We were able to follow how history was made.” According to the company, the aircraft produces zero carbon emissions. “Alice” is planned as a commuter and cargo plane, on routes between around 250 and 400 kilometers. Since the aircraft is electrically operated, it must be charged on the ground. According to Davis, his company aims for a charging time of 30 minutes for an hour of flight.
