The international airline association IATA estimates that the high oil prices will make flying more expensive than before. It is inevitable that airlines will therefore increase ticket prices in the near future, said IATA Director General Willie Walsh. Normally, it takes six months for rising kerosene costs to find their way into flight prices. “But with the very rapid rise that we’ve seen, that’s likely to be reflected in prices much sooner,” Walsh said.
