Aveline Stokart, a new juror from comics for the M6 show

“As a child, I played with Lego, but today, if I stack three bricks, I’m already happy! », jokes Aveline Stockart. The new juror of “Lego Masters”, season 4 of which launches this Monday at 9:10 p.m. on M6, admits that she does not master the technique, unlike the artist Paulina Aubey, to whom she succeeds.

“I am a comic book illustrator. My specialty is to stage stories, to know what, in the composition, the choice of shapes and colors, will serve a purpose, she explains. Within the competition, my role is to allow the pairs to tell their story as clearly as possible, to give them advice on composing their constructions so that everything is understandable. For example, which figure to put here? And to tell what? »

A successful trilogy

“Aveline is the ideal complement to Georg Schmitt [l’autre juré, présent depuis la saison 1]. He is the expert who pushes the candidates even further in their technical work. She comes with her know-how as a storyteller and illustrator. His color world works very well on brick works,” says Matthieu Bayle, producer at EndemolShine.

The thirty-year-old Belgian, daughter of a “theater-connected mother” [et d’] a movie-loving father,” as the publisher Le Lombard puts it, graduated from the Haute Ecole Albert Jacquard in Namur, where she studied computer graphics with a focus on 3D animation, but it was self-taught that she moved towards illustration. She notably signed the drawings for the children’s comic book trilogy They, based on scenarios by Kid Toussaint. The last volume, Plural(s) was published last April by Editions du Lombard, with a print run of 165,000 copies (!). The work is a success in bookstores: the three volumes have sold more than 465,000 copies.

“Advising the candidates was rewarding”

“Lego Masters” is Aveline Stokart’s first television experience. “I was very curious about the adventure. The competition itself is good-natured and fun. I created this link between my job and the brick competition itself. It amused and impressed me a lot to discover the skills of the pairs. I was amazed by their level, she assures. Supporting them, advising them, it was very rewarding. Being able to juggle between my job and their constructions was very fulfilling creatively speaking. »

Georg Schmitt, his sidekick, is full of praise for him. “It brings a freshness, another look at constructions and it has helped me a lot to review my position as a juror, concerning the way of coaching teams,” he confides. “We supported each other and complemented each other well on the comments. He has a sharp, technical eye, while I brought nuances in terms of aesthetics,” continues Aveline. A new duo of jurors with personalities that mesh well.
