Disney+ subscribers have reason to celebrate: “Avatar: The Way of Water” will be available from early June.
Anyone who hasn’t seen James Cameron’s (68) mega blockbuster “Avatar: The Way of Water” in the cinema can now do so in their living room. The sequel to Avatar: The Quest for Pandora (2009) is available June 7th on Disney+. The streaming provider announced this in a statement.
The sci-fi spectacle has been available as a digital purchase from the retailers Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Sky Store and Videoload since April 4th.
“Avatar 2” made the box office ring
In Germany, the sequel to the hitherto most successful film of all time hit the cinemas on December 14th. According to the report, the box office took in almost $2.32 billion worldwide – “the third-highest box office of all time”. Overall, “Avatar: The Way of Water” was also the most profitable film of the year in 2022.
In 2023, the film also won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
