“Avatar: The Way of Water” continues to climb up the all-time box office charts. The sequel to the highest-grossing film of all time now ranks seventh in the List of the world’s highest-grossing strips of all time.
After its fourth weekend in global theaters, “Avatar: The Way of Water” has now grossed $1.708 billion. The sci-fi spectacle overtook “Jurassic World” (1.671 billion) and “The Lion King” this week. Disney’s live-action remake of the hit trick made 1.663 billion in 2019.
James Cameron is chasing himself
By the way, “Avatar” is at number one in the all-time charts. The predecessor of the current chart topper had a turnover of 2.922 billion US dollars. Director James Cameron (68) is now in the top ten three times. In addition to the two “Avatar” films, “Titanic” is also included, with sales of 2.201 billion in third place.
