Autopsy of woman who died at home concludes “a violent death”

The autopsy of a woman in her thirties, whose body was found on Sunday in her apartment in the capital, near the Arc de Triomphe, concluded that “a violent death”, indicated Tuesday the Paris prosecutor’s office, contacted by AFP. The body of this woman, born in 1984, presented several wounds, caused by blows.

If the hypothesis of a suicide could have been considered at the very beginning of the investigation, the autopsy, carried out on Monday, showed that the injuries were “probably not self-inflicted”, specified the public prosecutor, who entrusted the investigation for intentional homicide to the criminal brigade of the Parisian judicial police. At this stage of the investigation, there have been no arrests.

Body found in bathroom

Sunday, around 6 p.m., the mother of the victim had alerted the police, after discovering a big mess in the apartment of her daughter from whom she had not heard from for several days, according to a police source. The police then found the body in the bathroom near the shower cubicle, partly covered with a blanket, according to the first elements of the investigation. A bloodstained blanket was also found on a sofa, the police source added.
