The e-car startup Sono Motors has filed for bankruptcy at the responsible district court in Munich. The company announced this on Monday. They wanted to reorganize themselves in self-administration, it said. Originally, the Munich startup wanted to launch its own electric car that could also be charged using solar cells in the body. With the company running out of money, Sono Motors halted the project in February and laid off 250 employees. Instead, they only wanted to produce solar retrofit kits for buses, trucks and other vehicles. But this reorientation came too late to save the company.
