Auto supplier – IFA goes to Aequita – Wirtschaft

The traditional automotive supplier IFA gets a new owner after years of renovation. The manufacturer of cardan and side shafts from Haldensleben in Saxony-Anhalt goes to the Munich financial investor Aequita, who manages the money of rich families and specializes in companies in financial difficulties. Both parties announced that they had agreed not to disclose the purchase price for IFA with around 2,600 employees. According to an insider, the takeover is based on a valuation of around 300 million euros. The majority of this is due to the debts that IFA had accumulated. The entrepreneur Heinrich von Nathusius had privatized the supplier in 1992, but got off the ground with the expansion course. The creditors, banks and customers therefore appointed the insolvency administrator Arndt Geiwitz as trustee in 2019, while the management consultant Arno Haselhorst set about the operational restructuring. IFA supplies BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Volkswagen, among others. “The restructuring successes were essential to win a new strategic investor”, explained Haselhorst.
