She was the queen of happy endings: Barbara Noack. Now came the news of her death. Accordingly, the successful writer died on Tuesday at the age of 98.

The author of romance novels has not only reliably written one bestseller after the other since the 1950s. She also provided material for TV hits such as “Der Bastian” (1973) with Horst Janson, Lina Carstens and Karin Anselm. The ZDF series met the lifestyle of the 1970s.

Her second novel “Die Zürcher Verlobung” was also filmed with Liselotte Pulver in 1957 and was shown again and again on TV in 2022.

“Heiter is always frowned upon in Germany,” Noack once said in an interview. Nevertheless, she continued to entertain her audience with light-hearted material.

“She was an author of special kindness and friendship. Barbara Noack will not be forgotten,” said publisher Michael Fleissner. (sp)
