Finally, several real predators stopped by the Patscherkofel, Innsbruck’s local mountain. Lynx, golden jackal and even a wolf are said to have been there. The wolf killed a deer on New Year’s Eve; not much was left of the carcass. But even the most voracious wolf, which is particularly reviled in Tyrol, cannot compete with the local gondola lift.
